Children should be ready to bring cans when our January RE classes begin. CANstruction is January 27. This is a fun event where RE Classes compete for the best construction made of cans and other donated food items. Congregation members vote with their dollars. The food and proceeds go to Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Coming in February

Your Baking Skills Needed for February 10, Chocolate Auction! Brownies, cookies, cakes — no item is too small for our bake sale or too large for the silent auction. Contact Jim DuPlessis at, or text 803.669.0055, to let him know what you will be bringing. Jim can make a mean brownie, but he’s clueless on most baking issues and could use a hand in getting this event together.

In this annual UUCC high holiday you can expect opportunities to eat chocolate, buy chocolate, bid on chocolate and even bet on chocolate (we’ll have a cakewalk). We’ll hold it after the service on Sunday, Feb. 10, so it will begin shortly after noon. Stay tuned for other details. This will benefit the high school youth’s 2020 trip to Boston. Every two years our youth visit places where Unitarians first left their mark in the United States. It’s an expensive trip, so plan on investing in chocolate and the next generation of Unitarian Universalists.

CYRE Committee Meeting
