Committee Members:

Major accomplishments this year. Hiring an outstanding director of religious exploration and enhancing the camaraderie of our staff, who work well with one another and are extremely dedicated to the congregation. We truly have an outstanding group who support our great work.

Please briefly describe any factors that facilitated or impeded your work this year. Having the support of our Board and, in particular, Linda Brennison, who served as the Board liaison. Linda helped ensure the staff were well informed and supported throughout the year.

Any special initiatives continuing into the next program year. We look forward to being able to direct our attention to the revision of the employee handbook.

We were looking for a church where we felt accepted both intellectually and spiritually, a place where all people and religions were regarded equally without condemnation. Our search began at UUCC six years ago and we never had to look any further. We found our place here with a community of like-minded people and it became our second home, our second family.

Carita Barr, Member: Growing up in a Lutheran state-taxed church, I never was very religious. But 40 years ago, I heard about Unitarian Universalism through friends. I found a home here where this diverse religious community really works to better our world. Respect and honor for the “other” is the main ingredient in our cooperative efforts as a movement.

This is a place where I can always find big smiles, warm hugs, and stimulating conversations. It is easy to get involved and quickly become part of the group.
