“Parliament of World Religions”  The Parliament of World Religions first took place in 1893.  Unitarian minister, Jenkin Lloyd Jones, served as the the founding committee’s Executive secretary.  Jim Taylor will present the history of this movement and how it relates to Unitarian Universalism.

Jim Taylor and his wife Chris Poschmann have lived in Bluffton, SC since 2000. He has had a long involvement with Native American Spirituality, Hinduism, has practiced Transcendental Meditation for forty years, and is committed to the Interfaith Movement. He is active with Unity of Hilton Head where he served on a ministerial search, on the board as vice president for two years as well as on the financial team and by-laws team. Jim is also a prayer chaplain. He is in training to become a Licensed Unity Teacher. Jim has presented numerous messages to Unity Churches in South Carolina and Georgia.

Jim is a USAF veteran. He is a graduate of Utah State University, where he studied philosophy and creative writing. During his last two years at Utah State University he served as associate editor and then editor in chief of USU’s literary magazine The Crucible. He has served on five boards in the arts, education, industry and church.
