We make the places in which we dwell homelike when we prepare to invite in family, friends, neighbors, and strangers who will become our new friends. These places include our apartments, houses, and congregational home. Spiffing up our homes means noticing and accepting the flaws and messiness around us, and in each other. This sermon will, with good humor, explore some ways family can dwell together tolerantly, graciously, and lovingly, while “accepting the things (and people) we cannot change.”
