Earth Day SC, a coalition of congregations and environmental organizations across the state, has postponed its gathering at the State House in Columbia, and will present a webinar instead from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 22.

Anyone can view the webinar by going to Facebook for @EarthDaySouthCarolina.

The webinar will focus on four issues: renewable energy as an alternative to extractive fuels, sustainable land and water use, environmental justice, and strategies to fight the climate crisis such as divestment.

The panel will include Jim Gandy, former chief meteorologist at WLTX TV, the Rev. Leo Woodberry of New Alpha Community Development Corporation, and Kirstin Dow, a social environmental geographer at the University of South Carolina. Moderators are Emma Sylves-Berry of the University of South Carolina and Amy Brooks of GreenFaith.
