Connections to Social Action
We are a group with a mission aimed at taking action toward improving Social Justice in our community in many ways. Sometimes that Social Justice takes the form of assisting people in need and other times it means working toward a cause for those that are being mistreated or a challenge that demands fair treatment. We meet after the Sunday service monthly and we always welcome visitors and potential new members. The chair of this committee is Laura Hartwig and the contact address is socialaction@uucolumbia.org

Section 8. COMMITTEES
Bylaws for the Social Action Committee
–
The Social Action Committee should consist of a Chair and
four or more Members or Friends of the Congregation. The Social Action Committee shall:
(i) inform and educate Congregation Members and Friends about areas of social concern
(ii) involve Members and Friends in direct social action projects, both locally and
nationally where feasible,
(iii) align our efforts with other churches and community organizations sharing the same commitment to education and action
