Dr. Pippin Whitaker

Soon our very own Dr. Pippin Whitaker will become the Rev. Dr. Whitaker and you are all invited to the ceremony! The ordination will take place at 5 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax located at 2709 Hunter Mill Road in Oakton, VA. Childcare will be provided for the ceremony and a joyful reception will follow. RSVP here

The UUCC has been Pippin’s sponsoring congregation throughout her ministerial studies. If you are able, please consider supporting Pippin’s ordination. In other joyful news, Pippin has been named as the ministerial candidate for Accotink Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Accotink, VA. The congregation will vote to call her as their settled minister on May 5th.

For much of our married life, we were without a church home, but felt our lives would be enriched if we could find a place where we were part of something greater than ourselves. The UUCC became that place. There, we’ve made great friends, enjoyed meaningful fellowship and found a sense of peace. It’s just what we were looking for.

Our search began at UUCC six years ago and we never had to look any further. We found our place here with a community of like-minded people and it became our second home, our second family.

Carita Barr, Member: Growing up in a Lutheran state-taxed church, I never was very religious. But 40 years ago, I heard about Unitarian Universalism through friends. I found a home here where this diverse religious community really works to better our world. Respect and honor for the “other” is the main ingredient in our cooperative efforts as a movement.
