Major UUCC Board Goals for FY17

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia is made manifest by the sum total of our activities in support of our values, our congregation, and Unitarian Universalism. Every activity is important. The following are the goals identified by the board as most critical and requiring board attention for this fiscal year.

Complete successful ministerial search process
Enhance membership growth and retention
Enhance printed and digital communications
Strengthen the financial foundations
Improve building and grounds
- Conduct a successful building renovation Capital Campaign
- Complete at least Phase I of the building renovation
- Continue improvements outside of areas impacted by Capital Campaign
Enhance the interaction of the whole congregation with RE
Analyze and propose revisions, if necessary, of the UUCC governance

Carita Barr, Member: Growing up in a Lutheran state-taxed church, I never was very religious. But 40 years ago, I heard about Unitarian Universalism through friends. I found a home here where this diverse religious community really works to better our world. Respect and honor for the “other” is the main ingredient in our cooperative efforts as a movement.

We were looking for a church where we felt accepted both intellectually and spiritually, a place where all people and religions were regarded equally without condemnation. Our search began at UUCC six years ago and we never had to look any further. We found our place here with a community of like-minded people and it became our second home, our second family.

This is a place where I can always find big smiles, warm hugs, and stimulating conversations. It is easy to get involved and quickly become part of the group.
