Beyond the Burn: 2018 UUCC Fire Communion

Our fire communion is an opportunity for members, friends, and visitors to reflect on the past year and let go of what they can’t control. The service is designed to help congregants identify goals for the upcoming year. Justin will spark ideas, getting all in attendance engaged with the concept.

Carita Barr, Member: Growing up in a Lutheran state-taxed church, I never was very religious. But 40 years ago, I heard about Unitarian Universalism through friends. I found a home here where this diverse religious community really works to better our world. Respect and honor for the “other” is the main ingredient in our cooperative efforts as a movement.

This is a place where I can always find big smiles, warm hugs, and stimulating conversations. It is easy to get involved and quickly become part of the group.

For much of our married life, we were without a church home, but felt our lives would be enriched if we could find a place where we were part of something greater than ourselves. The UUCC became that place. There, we’ve made great friends, enjoyed meaningful fellowship and found a sense of peace. It’s just what we were looking for.
