Since the first spiritual flicker sparked ancient people to look at the stars with awe, water has played an important role in religious ritual and practice. In many religions, water serves as an agent of purification, not just for the body, but for the soul.

Carita Barr, Member: Growing up in a Lutheran state-taxed church, I never was very religious. But 40 years ago, I heard about Unitarian Universalism through friends. I found a home here where this diverse religious community really works to better our world. Respect and honor for the “other” is the main ingredient in our cooperative efforts as a movement.

Our search began at UUCC six years ago and we never had to look any further. We found our place here with a community of like-minded people and it became our second home, our second family.
